Lalique Eagle
This is a Rene Lalique Tete d'Aigle eagle head mascot paper weight. Made of crystal, the paper weight is cast in the shape of an eagle head with eye, beak and feather details. Signature underneath is acid etched. This piece is 4.5"H x 6"L and made in France.
The original tete d'aigle was designed in 1928 as an "auto mascot" ornament and mounted on luxury cars. After the second world war, production resumed as a paperweight using the original mold.
