Belleek Pottery 2022 Ballycopeland Windmill #35 Ornament

The Belleek Annual 2022 Christmas Ornament has arrived!  Situated in Millisle, County Down, Ballycopeland Windmill is the only remaining functioning Windmill in Northern Ireland.  With a typical stone tower, the Windmill was built around the 1780's and is a  three story tower  Powered by the wind transmitted from its sails, there are three pairs of millstones found on the ground floor which are responsible for making wheatmeal, shelling and grinding grain into oatmeal.  An important source of food until the First World War, the Windmill was restored to working order in 1978 and now houses a visitor centre. 

Designers at Belleek have created this beautiful 3.75" ornament embossed with gold and a lucky shamrock on the reverse.  The Woodfolk Ltd from County Fermanagh has lovingly produced the turning oak sails, adding a playful feature to this unique handmade piece for 2022.  Hand crafted at the historical Belleek Pottery, Ballycopeland Windmill is the 35th Annual Edition Ornament and will only be available in 2022.
